You can choose your own dates and stay for two to seven weeks. Once you step off the plane in France, you will be met by a local program representative and escorted to your host family. For the next weeks, you will eat, sleep, and play like the French do. Enjoy experiencing French culture from an insider's perspective! Because students and families are matched based on shared interests and not on location, you may be staying anywhere in the country. Throughout your stay, you will have the support of the local coordinator.
We recommend this homestay immersion program for students who have studied French for at least three years, really want to use and improve their language skills, and feel ready to dive in to a different lifestyle and culture. You won’t spend a lot of time with other American students, and you should not expect to do a lot of traveling. If you would prefer a program that offers language classes and organized group activities, take a look at our homestay study program in Paris!

“I loved the program and my host family. ANDEO was very well organized, and I felt assured of all the details of my trip. And I enjoyed the feeling that I was improving rapidly in French!”
I've become more self-confident and brave. I'm still in touch with my French family and miss them. My French is also greatly improved, and I will never forget my stay in Bordeaux, France. Read Judith's full interview about the Program
