Summer Homestay Immersion in Germany

Spend your summer discovering German culture as part of a German family on our Summer Immersion in Germany Program. Start your day with a Nutella-centric breakfast, bike through the countryside, and experience Germany’s unique blend of tradition and modernity with your new friends. For this program, our partners in Germany choose host families who either have teens at home or who can introduce you to people your age in the extended family or neighborhood.

Choose your summer dates between June 8 and July 11 and stay for 3 or 4 weeks!

3 to 4 weeks : $2,000 (airfare not included)

Program Structure

You will be met at the airport by a local coordinator and escorted to your host family. Depending on when you arrive and where you are placed, you may have the opportunity to shadow a host sibling for the final weeks of the school year. After that, enjoy summer vacation with your host family as you eat, sleep, and play like the Germans do. Enjoy! Throughout your stay, you will have the support of the local coordinator.

Prerequisites

If you have studied German for at least one year, have a strong desire to put your language skills into action, and feel ready to dive into a different lifestyle and culture, this program is for you! You won’t spend a lot of time with other American students, and you should not expect to do a lot of traveling, but you will get an unforgettable glimpse into life as a German teen.

Feedback

"This is a beautiful part of the world and it has been an honor and a pleasure to spend these past 2 weeks here. Our students were awesome, as were our hosts. I pray that this experience brought new understanding, new relationships and made the world a little bit smaller for everyone involved. Auf Wiedersehen!" - Andrew Kuffner,  Principal of La Salle Catholic College Prep
