Summer Homestay Immersion in Spain

Enjoy Spanish culture from an insider's perspective in Spain! Our summer homestay immersion program offers you the chance to live with a Spanish host family who will invite you into their daily life and their circle of friends. You'll participate in shared meals, family gatherings, local festivals, and more… all in Spanish, of course! This is a full immersion program—once your family greets you at the airport, you'll have little or no contact with other Americans during your stay.

Support from the local coordinator who will be available throughout your stay to help you make the most of your homestay experience

ANDEO staff support for you and your parents throughout the application process, in your preparation, and during your stay abroad

Comprehensive medical and accident insurance

Prerequisites

We recommend this homestay immersion program for students who have studied Spanish for at least three years, who really want to use and improve their language skills, and who feel ready to dive in to a different lifestyle and culture. You won’t spend a lot of time with other American students, and you should not expect to do a lot of traveling.

Student Feedback

"My homestay was a life-changing experience. I am so grateful for such a wonderful host family and I hope to visit them again in the future. The city of Madrid will always hold a special place in my heart as well as the cultural differences that I experienced in Spain. Not only did I meet wonderful new people and try so many exciting new things, but I was also inspired to understand the Spanish language in its entirety. I look forward to continuing my Spanish studies and developing the characteristics and qualities of myself that I noticed while traveling Spain. ~Hannah~

"By the end of the three weeks, my host family had become such an integral and constant part of my life that it seemed very strange that I would have to leave them. I had formed bonds with these people, along with their own friends and family, that will never be broken. They had opened their house and lives up to me, and shared an experience with me that will last a lifetime. Now I will excitedly await for my host brother to get the go-ahead to come and stay with me!" ~Danny~
