When and why are the students coming? These teens will be arriving at the end of June and staying for about 4 weeks. They want to improve their English, live the life of an American teenager for a few weeks, and discover the Northwest.
How are families and students matched? You will be matched with a student based on similar interests and activities. We are particularly in need of families to host boys, but let us know if you can only accommodate a girl.
What do the students do during the day? The students are on a family immersion program. That means that they do what their family is doing, whether you are relaxing at home, playing basketball at a local park, or going on vacation. They will speak English and learn about your life by living it day to day.
Can we take our student out of town? Of course! We ask that you let us know if you will be away from home for more than a few days and provide contact information in case of emergency.
Does it cost anything to host? Hosting is free! Families must provide room and board for the students, but students bring their own spending money and are covered by health insurance.
Do you have any other hosting programs available? Yes! We have teens from France coming on the same type of program. If you live in Portland or Seattle, you can host a student from Europe or Asia who has a program of classes and activities, if that is better for your summer schedule.
