Today, since we didn´t have an activity planned we ventured out on our own. We decided to go to a local artisan market to buy more gifts. We took a city bus for 25 cents to the market. I tried to get out of the way and have the girls find the market and find our way back to the school on their own. Nobody really wanted to take the lead, but as a team we made it to the market and back. We were packed like sardines on the bus back to the school. The girls talked about how akwardly close they were to people. And since we got on when it was already packed we had to stand the whole time. It´s so fun for me to watch the girls figure things out on their own. Another example of this was Bri taking money out of the ATM only using Spanish.

The girls had their first day of classes. I didn´t hear much about them other than they spoke a lot of Spanish. I know in one they had to listen to a song and put the lyrics in order.

After classes we went to the mall. Some of the girls had to figure out how to buy some chocolate. They had to ask how much it was for a small bag. Once they figured out how many pieces they could get in a small bag they got to order their chocolate. And I watched in amazement as they all devoured the bag of chocolate. They all agreed that the chocolate tastes better here. All in all a great day for exploring and working things out.
