American Society of the French Academic Palms Summer Scholarship

The American Society of the French Academic Palms (ASFAP) offers 2 $4,000 summer abroad scholarships annually to be used in a French-speaking country to students whose interest in the French language and Francophone cultures has been identified by their French instructors.

ANDEO College Scholarship for Hosts (Oregon and Washington Residents)

Deadline: Wednesday, March 1, 2017

This scholarship benefits Oregon and Washington students who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting intercultural understanding and friendship by hosting exchange students through ANDEO. Applicants for the scholarship are judged on their study of world languages, scholastic achievements, leadership abilities, community involvement, and international interest.

ANDEO Summer Abroad Scholarship

Deadline: Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Ask your teacher to nominate you for an ANDEO scholarship! Find out how you can earn up to $1000 in funding to support your summer homestay program abroad. Funding is limited, so apply early. This scholarship is only available to students traveling on an individual summer abroad program through ANDEO.

Elizabeth Baricevic / Josefina Botta Memorial Scholarships (Oregon residents only)

Deadline: Saturday, April 1, 2017

These scholarships recognize outstanding commitment to the study of a second language. The Confederation in Oregon for Language Teachers awards up to four (4) scholarships of $1000 each under this program: one for a student at a high school with 500 students or less; two for students at high schools of any size; one for a student at the college/university level.

Students must be nominated by a language teacher who is currently a member of COFLT.

SYTA Scholarship for School Groups

Deadline: Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Teachers leading a group abroad may nominate students for a scholarship to help offset some of the fees. This Scholarship is administered through the Student Youth Travel Association Foundation.

WAFLT Excel Scholarship for World Language Students (university level)

Deadline: Wednesday, April 15, 2015

The Washington Association for Language Teaching offers up to three $1,000.00 scholarships each year to Washington residents taking advanced world language courses at the university level.  The award is merit based rather than need based.

To qualify, the student must be a Washington resident enrolled in a 300-level or higher world language course for Fall 2015 at a Washington college or university and indicate an interest in pursuing the language teaching profession.

WAFLT awards up to two scholarships in the amount of $500 (each) annually to deserving pre-collegiate world languages students (including graduating seniors) to help them participate in language and cultural immersion programs.
